You don’t need a script. A one liner easily does the trick.
perl -e 'printf("%25s --> %s\n", $_, $ENV{$_}) for keys %ENV'
All those variables are available to the scripts started from the a shell; depending on the actual user and process running the script. You probably have a built-in env command too if that’s all you need. Try man env.

I don’t think it’s a big puzzler. I’m much more bemused by the origins of hagus or pig’s feet or lobster as something to put in your mouth. Seriously. Who as the first guy who found a dead lobster washed up on shore and, after giving it a cursory whiff, said to himself, “Mmmmm, I have just got to cram this thing in my mouth.” Or cheese for that matter! Who cut open a lamb’s stomach to see the curdled ewe’s milk and thought, “You know I’ll bet if I just scrape off the inside of a dead sheep’s stomach and mix it with milk and let it sit in the dark for a week, that’d taste mighty fine.”

Oh, thanks for the advice. I tried it on the strength of your recommendation and it was pretty enjoyable. I never would have thought of that on my own.

This is the key to the photos that appear on the Sedition post: Adam Haley, Taos.
1. Barnaby and Adam. This was a photo shoot for our high school band, Autumn Moon. Cort and I were also on the pipe. It’s an aqueduct that takes the local acequia over NM State Road 64, I think. It’s 18 feet over the highway.
2. Adam and me. This was Zak’s birthday on the mesa in Los Colonias. Maybe 14th. Cropped out of the picture are David Cox, Zak Weisfeld, Jason Heyman, Jason Weisfeld, Francis Bartley, Chris and Mike Flaherty, Pablo Hopman, Noah Kaufman, and Jeff Yeoman. Forgive me guys if I got someone’s last name misspelled.
3. Adam hanging from a chain on a viga and Zak pretending to hold him up. Zak’s house.
4. The church (Will’s living room). Adam is playing keyboard. The other band members there: Barnaby, Cort, Marcus (Adam’s brother), and me.
5. Adam and Barnaby watching the eastern sky as the sun sets in the west. My house on Blueberry Hill. Northern New Mexico skies are like that somewhat often. I wish y’all would stay away though so maybe I should keep it to myself.
5. Adam windsurfing. Alberto Cattaneo was there too and got blown a mile or two off-shore, so to speak. We thought we’d killed our exchange student.
7. Adam and Will. I think this was the anti-prom party of 1985.
8. Adam at the Tennis Ranch pool. I think we were allowed to visit as non-members because my aunt “knew” the tennis pro or something.
9. Rio Grande at the bottom of the box and the start of the State Park run. Adam and Feilding (and maybe Chris F jumping from the bridge in the shadow).
10. Adam at sunset at my house. 1986.
This is the post on Sedition which the original query found. There is one more picture there too.
Mostly what I remember about Adam is he was the only close friend I’ve ever had who I never had a single fight with. In high school when I was sleeping 3 hours a night at home and couldn’t stand to be there in general he’d let me crash on his couch after school most afternoons.
I have a handful of other photos in black and white from the only time I hooked up with Adam after high school. He had formed a painters’ group with two other young men, Sasha Vom Dorp and Cedar Goebel. I wrote an article about them for the local news paper. It was very exciting. A time that one couldn’t help but have tremendous optimism for life and enthusiasm for participating. I wrote more and better poetry that year than I have in 23 years of writing verse.
I didn’t go back to New Mexico when Adam was sick. I didn’t think it would end up being serious. I didn’t go back when he was dying. Marcus said he wasn’t really recognizing people.
